Poker is an enormously entertaining game, and
we all have different reasons why we enjoy it. But regardless
of whether we are playing for recreation or in order to make money,
it’s a lot more fun to win than to lose.
Most people who play poker aren’t very good. Our goal in
the next few pages is to give you the information necessary to
have an advantage over your opponents. You’re not going
to be an expert right away--- but if you follow our advice, you
will be good enough to make money while you are gaining experience.
Education is generally expensive, and a poker education is no
different. But follow our advice, and you can slowly begin the
process of learning the game with almost no financial risk.
The most important thing is to start at low limits, and gradually
move up as your bankroll and experience increases. Everyone thinks
that they are better than what they really are--- it’s the
primary reason why you will make money at poker, but don’t
fall into that trap yourself.
