thus you can very easily diagnose your play (finding leaks in your
game, overall profit/loss and performance with specific starting
hands) and also records information about the play of all of your
opponents. The software can be used on a trial basis, and registered

chances to win if your hand makes it to showdown. You know how ESPN
and the World Poker Tour show the chance that a player will win
the hand in a particular situation? This software will do exactly
that. It's easy to use, and very useful to experiment with. A sample

Texas Holdem
This is commercial software costing about $90 USD and is a decent
way of first learning the game. The software is good for simply
practicing hands, doing some simulations, and getting a feel for
the game. The computer opponents are not very realistic, and the
"advisor" doesn't always give the best advice, but overall,
the program can probably help to turn a pure novice into a winning
player in limit games up to $1/2.
Acespade's Texas
Holdem Pro 2002
Acespade is comparable to Turbo Texas Holdem (TTH), though the
user interface is not as easy to use. The program is quite a bit
cheaper than TTH if you plan on using software to practice a variety
of poker games, and buy the limit collection bundle (Texas Holdem,
Omaha Hi, Omaha Hi/Low, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo).
